State Personal Income Tax

Most states require residents to pay a personal income tax and file a state income tax return. Income is taxed at either a flat or graduated rate. The following states do not have an income tax:

• Alaska
• Florida
• Nevada
• South Dakota
• Tennessee
• Texas
• Washington
• Wyoming
