Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
The ADA has been described as the most sweeping civil rights law since the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The provisions of the ADA are directed at the over 40 million disabled individuals in the United States, of which half are unemployed. With the passage of the ADA in 1990, this historically underrepresented minority has the means to use and apply their many skills in the public sector.
