Embezzlement

When a person obtains possession of property or money from another because of a relationship of trust between him and the owner, and then takes the property or money, embezzlement has occurred. The property or money does not have to stay in the embezzler's possession. It may be sold or converted by the embezzler. The common case of an employee stealing from his employer is a typical embezzlement situation.
